It's Friday, and Here's What I Think About That:
MLS starts to roll along: HWITAT--several good matches on the schedule for this weekend. Be sure to watch on TV, or better still go watch a game in person. Be sure to take cold weather gear though! More on MLS as the season progresses--we're sort of in 'Spring Training mode' right now.
Liverpool v Man U this weekend: HWITAT--This should be a great match. Lots on the line here as far as BPL standings/Europe qualification for 2015. Should be a very entertaining match. Enjoy.
March Madness: HWITAT--Now, I don't even know much about basketball. (Ask Robbie Church). But I do enjoy watching March Madness. Particularly this weekend when everyone is in the field. Next weekend and subsequent weekends as teams get eliminated aren't nearly as fun. So....enjoy the games and C'mon Cinderella!
Serving and Playing with Feet: HWITAT--In my training sessions so far this Spring (at Tennessee Soccer Club and Ohio Galaxies FC) it is obvious that most GKs can stop shots. But when it comes to serving balls, and playing with feet--we are seriously deficient. SERIOUSLY deficient. So........our training for the rest of the year will be stilted toward learning how to play with feet and improving our serve. We'll still cover all of the basic fundamentals of GKing--but we WILL put special emphasis on improving our play with feet. "I have promises to keep.....and miles to go before I sleep. Miles to go before I sleep." Thank you Robert Frost.
What is FIFA thinking with the 2022 world Cup in Qatar? HWITAT--Christmas tournament? Slavery in stadium building? LET'S NOT GO. Plain and simple. Let's Not Go. FIFA and it's low-life Darth Vader leader, Sepp Blatter, need to know that we still look at football/soccer as a humanizing sport. Shame on you Sepp. How much money does one man need? Really. Shame on you. Shame on FIFA. Let' stay home.
May the ground beneath your dive be soft. May the other team shoot right at you. May your goalposts be 3 feet wide.
All the Best--EV
