And Here's What I Think About That....
OK! Well, for the obvious: Hope Solo: HWITAT--Hope, get your act together! You are a fine GK. You are NOT irreplaceable. The US, with or without you, will do OK in Canada--we have the firepower to win. But more importantly--you need to sort out your life. We wish you good luck.
US U-20 Team: HWITAT--At first look, the U-20s are extremely boring to watch. BUT, they have a way of grinding it out to achieve the necessary results to continually move on....at least, so far. So maybe that's a glimpse into the future...maybe our National Teams have to learn how to grind out games to get results--it's not pretty, but at this point....who cares?!? We have reached the point in the US where we want RESULTS. We want WINS. Tab Ramos' bunch is doing that, and I'm 'OK' with that. Good luck in the next round, Boys.
De Gea to Madrid?: HWITAT--Every professional in EVERY profession's first duty is to himself, his family, and those that depend directly on him/her. If De Gea can make more money at Madrid....so be it. If a carpenter or craftsman can make more money on another job.....they take that job. So, De Gea may or may not be headed to Madrid....or maybe another club.
MLS cranks up the season.....well, MAYBE: HWITAT--Hopefully the MLS and the MLS Players Union will come to agreement and implement the new CBA before the season begins. There seems to be a great distance between the 2 entities at this point. HOPEFULLY (and that is a huge operative word with MLS administration) both sides will work to come to an agreement. That is what I HOPE....but I fear that come March, we may see a Player strike. Of course, in this world, nothing gets done until the last minute.....so we'll see. As they say in Montessori school, "Work it out, Boys".
Best wishes to my old Coach, Hank Steinbrecher: HWITAT--Hank, my college Coach and der friend is going through some tough times medically speaking. I, and thousands of other soccer people, hope things work out for Hank; and Hank if by chance you're reading this....Godspeed to you and know that we are ALL pulling for you. Love you. EV
May the ground beneath your dive be soft. May the other team always shoot right at you. May your goalposts be 3 feet wide.
Enjoy your weekend, and Good Luck with your training and matches!
All the Best--EV
