Everyone is saying and griping that the USWNT has not been electrifying in the Women's World Cup. Even some of the former players have publicly criticized Jill Ellis (Head Coach) and the team, saying that the team hasn't been winning with domination and flash, "like WE did". Two points on that: 1. We're WINNING. Yeah, it's not the scintillating, thrilling dominance that we've become accustomed to with our Women's National Team. Hey, guess what folks.....other countries have improved. That was inevitable. So, let's just wait and see how the US does overall in the tournament, shall we? We've been grinding out wins, and we've only given up 1 goal. 2. Hey older players....(and we ALL do it) Stop saying how much better you were than the current team. We see/hear this in all sports. "Yeah, these new kids are good, but we were better". We are all guilty of ever-embellished 'back in the day' memories; but the fact of the matter is that each and every generation of players in each and every sport are better that their predecessors. Each generation is bigger, stronger, faster, more technical, better coached, better tactically,--you name it. Yeah, I'm saying it.....the 2015 USWNT is better than the 1999 USWNT. Just sayin'. So, for 2015, Be patient, and--Let's Wait and See.
Klinsmann is going with the 'Old Boys' for the Gold Cup. I hope it works out. I will miss that 'never give up' attitude that the 'Young Guns' showed in the past couple of friendlies. Jurgen--embrace the American spirit. It works.
Was in Englewood last week, US headquarters for Reusch USA to do some podcasts and videos around our GKing product. We added an "Ask the Pro" segment where people can send in GK questions which Felix Ortiz and I will answer on camera.
If you submit a question and we use it on-air, you win a Reusch T-shirt...so be sure to send in your questions to [email protected] and we'll get them on-air--and YOU'LL win a T-shirt if we use your question. Also, look for our short segments on Reusch glove technologies on YouTube!
May the ground beneath your dive be soft. May the forwards shoot everything straight at you. May your goalposts be 3 feet wide.
All the Best--EV
