Is it me, or have we (USA Soccer) had about enough of this excuse-making stuff? I believe that at the very least, we should have been able to preserve a draw (we gave up the 3rd and winning goal to Chile in the final 10 minutes of the match) away from home. That would have been at least a 'baby step' for us. Kilinsmann claims that he is 're-vamping' the whole USMNT system, and more power to him. But, maybe we could begin by learning--as a Team--to survive a draw on the road. Maybe? Maybe? Maybe? What do YOU think?
Congrats to 2 old friends and GKs I trained: Jon Busch and Troy Perkins recently signed with MLS teams Chicago and Seattle respectively. Both 'boys' are seeing the 'twilight' of their careers, and I am happy for both of them to be able to continue their stellar playing careers for a little bit longer. They have both entered their 'veteran years' and both are fine GKs and finer men. Congrats, Boys--I'm proud to be somewhat associated with you!
The Flu has found our hose. Came down with the flu last night, and hoping that this crap goes away asap. If you haven't contracted the flu yet this year--be healthy! Wash hands thoroughly and often, make sure you are eating well, and stay hydrated. Green tea can go a long way toward 'clearing out and strengthening' your immune system. Dr Vaughter highly recommends Green Tea!
Hey, if you're a 'Ski Guy' and are in the Denver, CO area--be sure to stop by the SIA SnowShow at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. Reusch USA will be exhibiting our full range of Reusch SnowSports products. Did you know that Reusch is the world-wide leader in high-end Ski gloves? Yup. So if you get a chance, stop by the Booth and say 'Hi'!
May the ground beneath your dive be soft. May the opposition hit every shot right at you. May your goalposts be 3 feet wide.
All the Best--EV
