Ethan, who is 19 is the #1 GK at Molde FC in Norway. Molde is 1 win away from qualifying to Europa League and 2 wins away from qualifying for Champions League early group play. Ethan is also on the US U-20 National Team and is a young GK who is "on track" to become a 'big time' GK.
Ethan made the choice of not attending college in the US after High School and has chosen instead to ply his trade as a professional and use the next 3 or 4 years to develop as a GK and make his move toward top tier soccer (football) for a big Club in Europe. Ethan has all of the tools necessary for this exploit. He's big, he's strong, he's long, he's quick, he's athletic, and he has the proper work ethic to make it. That last part is VERY important. A GK needs to have the proper attitude toward training and development on a daily basis if he/she is going to continue to progress. This development is a combination of daily training and match-day performance(s). Ethan has played as the first-team GK for well over 9 matches so far. During those 9 matches, he has not made any blunders. In other words, he has been very consistent.
His match consistency is maybe the most integral part of Ethan's overall development. His consistency shows that he has worked hard at his technical skills and has been mentally prepared for training on a daily basis, and has found a routine that works for him on match-day. Each and every match day, he has been successful and led his team to wins.
So, the next step for Molde FC is to continue to develop Ethan in order to sell him to a Club in Europe that is looking for a GK. The next step for E would be to get sold (transferred) to a larger Club, say in Holland or Belgium, to continue nurturing his game and preparing to take the next step. The next step then would be to be sold to one of the big Clubs in Europe all the while continuing his tenure within the US National Team Pool(s). At 19 years old, Ethan should be looking at possibly breaking into the USMNT group for the 2018 World Cup--for sure by the 2022 World Cup. By the 2022 World Cup, Ethan would be 26 years old with plenty of experience under his belt, and should be the competing for--if not the-- number 1 at his big Club in Europe.
All of the above only works if Ethan remains totally focused on his job--which is being a top level pro GK--and tries to improve each and every day, both in training and in games; and avoids any catastrophic injuries along the way. Right now, Ethan Horvath is 'on the radar'. As the years pass, it will be totally up to Ethan how focused and engaged he remains during his journey.
I believe he has it in him. More importantly, HE believes he has it in him. Good luck to you Ethan!
